A single rose bud on a stem card

Hi Blogger friends,

Today's share is one of my friend Linda's favorite cards.  She gets to see all of the cards I make each week.  She makes me smile when she says how she likes them, velvety words to hear for sure and I try not to let her compliments get to my head.  I cherish every word.

This card is one I had been wanting to make for a long time.  Although the main die was pricy I was waiting patiently to get it at the right price.  What made this card so special is because of the use of a Sue Wilson's embossing folder (large embossing folders).  I will let you judge on how you like it, but it was a fun and simple card to make.

Pink ink and sponge was used on the Oval where the sentiment is.  Done when the die cut was still on the paper.

Card with daisies to share

This is one card I woke up in the middle of the night wanting to remember what I had designed in my sleep.  Sounds silly I know, but I do that often.  This card was so simple to make, keeping in mind that I already had my daisies made ahead of time.  Yes, I have many flowers pre-made and ready to use.  It makes a card very quick to make.

I hope you enjoyed this card and makes you want to try to make daisies of your own.  It is fun and I know it relaxes me to make my own flowers.  Especially when I have them made ahead of time.

A red poppy!

I am sure that by now you must be thinking I am addicted to poppy flowers, not the seeds "wink".  This card was another inspiration beginner by looking at Becca Feeken's gorgeous cards.  I wanted to make a card in red, to go with another poppy, this time in red as well.

Oh I love Vintage photos with a tinge of color in them

Today I am going to share a lovely card I made in view of so many birthday cards to send for the year.  No one will know who will get this card until they open it when received.  This process makes it easier for me to share my cards ahead of time, so I can move on with other projects.  Making sense to me with all the projects I have in mind.

This card was very much fun to make although I had a hiccup when it came to decide what type of flowers I was going to use for the spray.  I wanted I small spray with small flowers or a larger single flower.  But, as I always try different options before adhering anything to any card until it is decided, I was happy to find some flowers that were already made to fit this spray perfectly.  It turned out even better than anticipated.  So I hope you like it.

The pink roses are made of crepe paper with a circular die cut (MFT)

Every flower on this card and generally found on my cards, are all hand made.  I don't buy already made flowers.

 

Tips you might enjoy knowing before hand:  This is a large die that makes a 6 X 6 in card.  It is also very intricate.  I had to use some wax paper to cut it well.  I suggest you cut with edge on the left side of your machine.  Turn 90 degree and cut again so you get a perfect cut.  As for the embossing I suggest you do it by hand with a stylus, I tried it and it destroyed the edges as you can see it is very thin.

As promised I am sharing a card I made recently.  I hope you get inspired by it.  Today alone I have made 4 cards so I feel the creativity coming back in a hurry.  Don't we all wish this feeling would extend all year round?  Spread out the fun equally, I would welcome that myself.

My handmade roses and rose buds with Poppy dies

Today I am so excited to share with you this card that turned out better once done than I ever anticipated.  At least in my eyes anyway.  This card was inspired by Becca Feeken's card I really loved it and wanted to create one with a twist using my newly made roses.  Oh what fun!

So while playing with some of my die cuts to make flowers it came to mind to try and make roses with my Heartfelt Creations Poppy die set.  Success!!!!!!!!  I told a friend online I made some roses and rose buds with the Poppy die, I am sure she was laughing while saying if anyone can turn a poppy die into a rose, it will be you.  LOL  But it was true.  She was really surprised to see how pretty it was once she received her card in the mail.  The next time I make more roses with this technique with the poppy die, I will take photos to show you how I make them.  For now here is the card I really cherish and can't send out just yet.

 

There are many dies involved in this card, but every little bit of work was so worth it.

Hello everyone

My coming back to my blog will start by posting a beautiful card that my friend made this week.  I really loved it and will surprise her by posting it here for you to see.

 

We usually make a card or two a week, we finish them later adding different embellishments to our cards so the following week we can show our finished projects.  It is fun to see how different the same two basic cards end up each time.  This card she made from scratch and surprised me with it last Wednesday.  Fun fun fun

We both make our own flowers.
